Along the Campaign Trail 2012

Here's a little coverage from the Ohio campaign trail. What a month! Well, it's over now and we'll see what happens over the next four years!

AEP Coal Barges for Bloomberg News

I recently spent two and half days on the AEP Leader, a Tug Boat owned by American Electric    Power, on a trip down the Ohio River. I boarded the tug in Powhatan, West Virginia and traveled with the crew of nine employees, down the river to Gallipolis, Ohio. The Barge was pushing 15 barges containing 30,000 tons of coal. The crew worked 24 hour shifts for 21 days straight through. They are a unique breed of people I had the honor to spend some time with.

Airstream Trailers for Bloomberg

I was hired to by Bloomberg for some coverage in the Airstream Trailer Manufacturer in Jackson Center, Ohio recently. Airstream is a brand name many are familiar as a leader in the recreational camper industry. All of these trailers are manufactured by hand and shipped all around the world.

Brown Foreman for Bloomberg

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Louisville, Kentucky to watch hand crafted bourbon barrels being manufactured at the Brown Foreman Cooperage. This is such a unique, intricate process. I didn't realize how much of the process is still done by hand. Amazing.

Weekend in Havana

It's been a while since I have posted anything. My apologies. Back in June, my wife and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary by taking a trip to Havana, Cuba for four days. This is somewhere we have always wanted to go. The people there were among the most unique, benevolent I had ever encountered. I tried to embrace every experience I had while we were there. You never meet a stranger in a place such as as Havana. I will always try to get back there anytime I have the opportunity. Here's a few from the trip.
